Art is the soul of the world.
I was involved in the performing arts (music, theater, dance) as a child and teenager, but the fine and material arts I am just now learning on my own. Currently I am practicing and learning drawing, painting, design and photography. Compared to most of the people I've seen here, I have a long way to go, but we all had to start someplace!

Ok, there are glaciers that move faster than me. I admit it. My favorite saying is "I will Procrastinate . . . Tomorrow"
But I have things in the works and I will get them done! (And I have been busy!)

Waterlily2544's Art Journal (a separate web site I am building) and the Waterlily2544 Facebook Page! One thing I will do on each site is make my pick for "Deviant Artist of the Month." This will be the DA who has moved me and impressed me the most in a month. An artist I feel deserves some serious promotion! Right now I am going to stick with visual artists of all kinds, but might also feature writers at some point.

Happiest Days of My Life

"Today is one of the happiest days of my life!" a young woman exclaimed allowed.
Nearby was a man drinking his coffee and enjoying the day.
He heard the woman who sat so closely by.
Politely the man said, "Miss, I could not help but to overhear. Why are you so happy today?" he asked.
"Could you move closer?" the woman said.
And the urbane man, ever polite, moved closer.
The woman smiled. Her features radient from the sun.
"Just a bit closer" she gently spoke.
With an indulgent smile the man stood up briefly so he could sit directly by the beautiful and smiling young woman.
"Ah, there you are!" the woman murmurred.
And her smile widened.
